A Few Things

I may be writing this with my hands covered in blood, because yes, glass cuts. And perhaps that is one of its greatest attributes. It can hurt and be hurt.

It is fragile, noble and profoundly beautiful.

I am deeply interested in beauty. I could spend my life searching for it, whatever it is that I consider beautiful. And what could be more important than searching for beauty in the world?

I work mainly with glass, although I am not particularly interested in treating it as a precious material. I like taking it to places where it feels slightly out of place: clothes, bags, objects, surfaces.

My work sits somewhere between sculpture, craft, fashion and image-making.

I studied creative advertising before moving into glass, and I still approach objects in a very visual way, almost as if they were images first and sculptures afterwards.

I grew up in León, home to one of Europe’s most important collections of medieval stained glass.

I work from Spain.
